Aston Villa start this game bottom of the table and 21 points behind their opponents, league leaders Manchester City. Remi Garde has his first game in charge for Villa and it couldn't be a harder baptism for the Frenchman. Villa won their opening game of the season away at Bournemouth but the next ten games have produced just one point and that was against relegation threatened Sunderland at home. Villa have lost their last six league games and been knocked out of the Capital One Cup too. That's what happens when you go round selling your best players and not replacing them. One such player was Fabian Delph who finally decided to go to Manchester City. He's been injured most of the season but is back fit now and if he plays here on Sunday could get quite a hostile reception. Manchester City are top of the table and had an excellent win in the Champions League in midweek away at Sevilla.  They have won seven of their last eight games in all competitions, the other game being a 0-0 draw away at Manchester United.
