Perfect records will be on the line when Aston Villa welcome Liverpool to Villa Park in the Premier League on Saturday. Liverpool are second in the table after three wins from three while Villa are fourth with two wins from two. The reigning champions look capable of retaining their title after early displays which included convincing victories over Chelsea and Arsenal. Both Sadio Mane and Mo Salah have scored three goals already in the early weeks with the former receiving particular praise from pundits. They will be without new signing Thiago Alcantara after the midfielder contracted Covid-19. Villa started their campaign off with a home win over Sheffield United before travelling to Fulham and picking up another three points at Craven Cottage. Villa have lost four of their last five matches against Liverpool, the anomaly being a bizarre 5-0 win over their second-string side in the League Cup semi-final. Liverpool won the last league match they played at Villa but may expect a tougher test this time around against a side in a good run of form on their own turf.
