Chelsea will continue with their Women’s Super League title defence on Saturday, away to Aston Villa on Match Day 5. Going into this game, Chelsea are second in the standings while Aston Villa are 11th. It hasn’t been a dream start to the season for Aston Villa. They are yet to register a win after four rounds of matches, losing all four. In each of their four league matches, they have conceded at least two goals. Villa have however failed to score in just one of their four games. Coming into this game they suffered a 4-2 home defeat at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur. That game marked a third time in four that they scored first but couldn’t protect their lead. It also marked the second time in four matches that they conceded in stoppage time. Seven of the 10 goals they’ve conceded so far came in the second half.

Chelsea have had a good start to the season. The only time they failed to collect maximum points was against Manchester City in a 1-1 draw. Coming inro this game they thrashed Brighton 4-2 but they had to come from a goal down. Sjoeke Nusken made her mark for the season with three goals in that game. Agnes Beever-Jones wrapped it up with the fourth before Elisabeth Terland pulled one back for Brighton. Samantha Kerr will be happy to take on Aston Villa, given her form against this opponent. The forward has scored in each of the last four matches against Villa. Chelsea have never lost to Aston Villa in their 12 meetings before this.
