Aston Villa will aim to rise into the top four when they play host to Fulham in their next league game. Coming into this game, Villa are fifth, 10 places ahead of Fulham. Hosts Villa have 22 points, just two off the top four. They are coming from a 2-1 win over AZ in the Europa Conference League, their sixth win in eight matches. Earlier, Villa had suffered a shock defeat at Nottingham Forest in the league. Unai Emery will hope his charges rise to the occasion as they return to league action. An area of improvement for Villa would be in defence; they have no clean sheet in six matches. Both teams scored in five of their last six matches. Eight wins in the nine home matches this season should give Villa the confidence needed going into this game. Their only home defeat this season came in the League Cup, against Everton.

Fulham have in the last 10 league matches only beaten Luton Town and Sheffield, both struggling sides. The visitors will hope to change this trend but without a win in five away league matches it doesn’t look promising. Two of their last four league games away from home ended in defeats. However, both teams scored in three of their last five away league matches. Their run against Villa isn’t the best either; Fulham have lost in this fixture four times in the last five.
