Aston Villa vs Burnley Prediction & Betting Tips - Premier League

Aston Villa look to improve their poor home form in the Premier League as they host Burnley. Both teams won over the weekend leaving Villa in tenth and Burnley in 17th. Villa may only be tenth in the league but are only five points behind the top four and seven behind the league leaders Tottenham. Even more important for them is the fact they have two games in hand on the top seven. The weekend saw them travel to nearby Wolves and come away with a 1-0 win thanks to a 90th minute penalty. That victory was Villa's fourth in five away league games this season, the other being a 2-1 loss at West Ham. Those wins have  been against some decent opposition with victories over Leicester and Wolves as well as 3-0 wins at both Arsenal and Fulham. They'd be higher in the table if their home form was as good. Two games have been won against Sheffield United and that stunning 7-2 hammering of Liverpool. Since that win over the champions, Villa have lost to Leeds United, Southampton and Brighton, conceding nine goals in the process. This is the first of three games that Villa have a great chance of winning. Next up is West Brom away and then Crystal Palace at home.  Mind you, after that they take on Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham, so a good run is needed now.

Sunday saw Burnley became the latest of a growing list of teams who have had an away win at Arsenal. The victory took them out of the bottom three, a point clear of Fulham. They might be back in the relegation zone by the time this game begins. They have just nine points from 11 league games this season but seven have come in the last four. Before the Arsenal victory, they beat Crystal Palace and drew with Everton at home and lost 5-0 at Manchester City. That almost annual (more if they meet in a cup) thrashing at the Etihad was a rare high scoring Burnley game. Six of their last eight league matches have had under 2.5 goals scored in them, overall it's seven in 11. Strangely, there is only one team in the Premier League who have had more games this season with under 2.5 goals in them and that's Manchester City. Burnley have five away points this season but only four goals. Of their 12 conceded, eight came at City and Chelsea. The other four have seen them concede just four times. A bet on under 2.5 goals is the tip for this match.
