Aston Villa lock horns with Brighton at Villa Park for a Premier League game on Saturday. The home side are sixth in the table after picking up 15 points from their opening seven games. Three points behind league leaders Leicester, Villa have a game in hand on most of the other clubs in the top flight. Brighton, meanwhile, are struggling near the bottom of the table in 16th. The Seagulls have only managed to amass six points from their eight matches thus far. This lowly points tally does not reflect the good play that has been the hallmark of Brighton performances this season. The problem for the visitors is an apparent inability to finish off chances. While they have failed to win any of their last six matches in all competitions, they have at least drawn three of their last four. All three of those draws featured two goals or fewer. Villa were on a downbeat run of their own before they travelled to Arsenal for their final game before the international break. There, Dean Smith saw his side recover from back-to-back defeats in style, humiliating Arsenal on their own patch with a confident 3-0 win. It's not Villa's first scalp this season and we suspect it won't be their last.

Villa lost their last two home league matches but won the previous four. Among that pile of victories was the bizarre 7-2 win over reigning champions Liverpool. Jack Grealish has been lavished with praise for his performances this season and he's been helped by the likes of Ross Barkley, who has played with a swagger since switching to Villa. The home side are unbeaten in their last ten matches against Brighton. We expect that streak to be extended by a Villa win.
