Seventh placed Aston Villa know winning this match will take them into European competition next season. They host Brighton who are sixth and already in the Europa League. The home side will be wishing they'd held onto their lead at Liverpool last weekend rather than draw 1-1. If that had been the case the Villans wojuld be three points clear of eighth placed Tottenham and only needing a draw to go into the Europa Conference League next season. That's not the case though and they have a slender one point lead over Tottenham who play away at Leeds on the final day. Both sides have a +4 goal difference but Tottenham are well ahead on goals scored. A win for the Lions win will see them ni Europe and that wasn't expected when Unai Emery took over as coach. His job was to avoid relegation rather than getting his new club into Europe. A form guide for the last 15 games has them in fourth place. Home form is strong with six successive home victories.

Brighton have also had a season that has surpassed their hopes at the beginning of it. The win over Southampton last Sunday guaranteed them a place in Europe for the first time. Then they came from behind to draw with Manchester City and that's taken them into the Europa League. Only one of their last four league games has been lost. That was a 4-1 loss at Newcastle United last week. Away form has seen the Seagulls win eight league games and only Arsenal and Manchester City have won more. They have been beaten six times and conceded 30 goals. Their dreams have been achieved so the suggested bet here is for Villa to get the win.
