Aston Villa have somehow learnt to live with Jack Grealish’s departure and they haven’t looked short in attack. On Match Day 3 of the Premier League, they’ll be hosting new boys Brentford, looking to build on two straight wins. Villa go to the game placed 10th on three points while Brentford, with four points, are eighth. The home team wrapped up preseason well and carried the form to the new season though they opened with a loss but their scoring run hasn’t taken much of a hit, while they have three clean sheets in their last five matches. Villa have scored two or more in the opening three matches of the season and are coming from a 6-0 win over Barrow in the League Cup, a game in which key players were rested. They now have two straight clean sheets and 10 goals in their first three games of the season. Their impressive scoring run in the league has the team with 10 goals in the last five matches, but they have only one clean sheet in that run.

Brentford are quickly learning the ropes in the top flight and so far all is good. They are unbeaten in the opening three matches, two of them wins. The latest outing was a 3-1 win over Forest Green Rovers in the League Cup, which was the first time they’ve conceded this season. They kept two straight clean sheets in their opening two matches and having scored five times in their first three matches of the season will go a long way in boosting their confidence. The last game also showed their fighting spirit, having to come from a goal down to beat the lower league side. Brentford will hope their run against Aston Villa plays out in this game too; they haven’t lost to Villa in the last six meetings, winning three and drawing three.
