Wydad Casablanca will travel away to ASEC Mimosa on Saturday seeking their first point(s) of this season’s CAF Champions League. The two teams failed to win on matchday one which has left Wydad bottom in Group B and ASEC second. ASEC Mimosa earned a point on matchday one as they held Simba SC to a 1-1 draw in Tanzania. The Ivorian heavyweights will be looking to build on this and boost their chances of making it to the knockout rounds. Les Mimos, who haven’t played since matchday one, have struggled with inconsistency and have won only once in their last five outings. Goals have been hard to come by and in their current slow return have scored only twice. ASEC won 2-0 the last time Wydad were in town, which was four seasons ago.

Wydad Casablanca fared worse than ASEC on matchday one and produced the shock of the round by losing at home to Jwaneng Galaxy. The Moroccan giants were defeated 1-0 by the Botswana champions and will be eager to make amends here. WAC, who saw an eight-match winning streak ended when they lost in the African Football League final, have lost their last three games. After the loss to Jwaneng, Adil Ramzi’s men were defeated 3-1 away to FAR Rabat in the domestic topflight. The loss left them seven points off the pace though they have three games in hand. Wydad have won three of the last four meetings with ASEC.
