Arsenal will be looking to finish the year on a high when they host Wolverhampton Wanderers on 28th. Going to this game, Arsenal strengthened their hold of the top four, with a 5-0 win over Norwich City. The Gunners are currently fourth with 35 points, 10 ahead of eighth placed Wolves. Arsenal’s win over Norwich was their first straight and they did it without a few key players. Tomiyasu Takehiro was out due to a positive Covid test as were Ainsley Maitland Niles and Cedric Soares. Still they scored five to make it five wins in a row and have now scored 19 goals in that run, while conceding just two. They have three clean sheets in the five matches and at home, it is even better with four clean sheets in the last five matches. This season, Arsenal’s only home loss was against Chelsea early in the season and after that they have gone on 11 unbeaten matches at the Emirates. They have 10 wins in 12 home matches this season.

Wolverhampton Wanderers were scheduled to take on Watford on Boxing Day but that was postponed. They will be much fresher when they face Arsenal just two days after Arsenal’s game and this, they’ll hope, plays in their favor. Wolves’ last outing was an impressive showing at home to Chelsea, which ended in a 0-0 draw. That was their second straight clean sheet and if there’s an area Wolves have done superbly this season it has to be in defence. They don’t score a lot and they also don’t concede a lot. In the last five matches, they’ve conceded two goals and failed to score in four. They have three clean sheets in that run of five matches and each of their last eight matches has produced under 2.5 goals. This will be the fourth high profile match for Wolves after facing Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea recently. They lost 1-0 to both City and Liverpool.
