Arsenal vs Tottenham Prediction & Betting Tips - Premier League
by Daniel Ngulu | in Premier League Predictions
Another instalment of the hugely anticipated North London derby is here. Arsenal hosts Tottenham Hotspur, with both teams coming from Europa League assignments, and harbouring hopes for Europe as they go to this game. The hosts, Arsenal are placed 10th with 38 points, while Spurs, the visitors are seventh, on 45 points. Both are coming from wins in the midweek fixtures and they’ve been in great form, which is a good promise for this Sunday clash. Arsenal lost 2-0 in the first meeting this season and their decline in this fixture has been clear, heading here without a win in the last four meetings. Mikel Arteta has already lost his opening two North London derbies and after a tough season so far, he could win, or lose more fans by the performance and result in this game. The Gunners head to this game on the back of a 3-1 away win over Olympiakos. It was the third time in three of the last five matches that they’ve scored three goals. However, it marked the ninth game without a clean sheet, and they have just one in the last 12. One aspect Arsenal will be happy about at this point, is that they have a diversity of scorers and goals can come in from anywhere. In their last three matches, they’ve scored seven goals, and these have come from seven different scorers. After four away games, they will be glad to get this big rival visiting at the Emirates but it can only be great if they win. Arteta’s side has two wins in the last seven league matches. They were unlucky against Burnley last time out but the kind of wastefulness they exhibited at Turf Moor can be severely punished against Spurs. In their last seven home matches in the league, Arsenal have lost just once – to Manchester City.
Tottenham have been on fire lately and it is thanks to Gareth Bale getting to his best as well as the return from injury of Harry Kane. Bale has scored five goals in the last five matches. He’s had four goals and two assists in the last four Premier League matches. Kane, on the other hand, has scored five goals in the last four matches. The duo’s fine form has seen Spurs win each of their last five matches and at the moment are just three points below the Europa League slot. On Thursday, the visitors saw off Dinamo Zagreb 2-0 in their Europa League game courtesy of two goals from Kane. They’ve scored 15 goals in the last five matches and conceded just one; and having four clean sheets ahead of this trip to the Emirates is what Jose Mourinho would have wished for. Three of Spurs’ last five matches have hit over 2.5 goals and they have three straight wins in the league. Their main concern though, will be in the fact that they haven’t been as good away from home. In their last four away league matches, Spurs have lost three, and the one they won, came through a Fulham own goal.

Our Arsenal vs Tottenham Prediction
Arsenal have come second best in their recent meetings with Spurs and going to this game, Spurs are the side with the better run. However, in such matches, form and head to head stats don’t matter a lot. An outstanding stat here is that both sides have been scoring a lot and we can expect them to carry that to this game. Over 2.5 goals has been common in recent matches featuring these two sides and we are expecting the same here.
