Arsenal vs Tottenham Prediction & Betting Tips - Premier League
by Daniel Ngulu | in Premier League Predictions
Arsenal and Tottenham face off in one of the top matches in the sixth round in the Premier League and after mixed starts to the season, either side will be hoping to bag the North London derby bragging rights. Hosts Arsenal are placed 13th with six points and Spurs are three points ahead, in seventh. Arsenal opened their season with three straight losses in the league but have recovered well to win the next two. They head to this game with three straight wins after their 3-0 victory over Wimbledon in the League Cup. The Gunners have four wins in five matches and four clean sheets in the run too, but none of those teams they have beaten matches Spurs’ quality. They will however look at those results as a good motivation going to the derby, and the knowledge that a win margin of two goals or more will lift them above Spurs should be encouraging enough. Arsenal are unbeaten at home against Spurs in the last 10 league matches, winning five, and they will have the advantage of an almost fully fit and available squad. Granit Xhaka returns after his suspension but it is unlikely he will start. Aaron Ramsdale has kept two straight clean sheets in the league and he is expected back after being rested for the Wimbledon game. A player who will be itching to start this game is Alex Lacazette; he has three goals in four matches against Spurs, including the winner in their last meeting.
Tottenham started the season with three straight wins in the league and rose to the top while Arsenal were rock bottom, but things have changed in the recent weeks. Spurs lack the defensive solidity seen in the opening three league games; they have no clean sheet in the last four matches, and have failed to score in two of them. They have conceded a total of 10 goals in their last four matches and coming to this game, they had to win on post match penalties after drawing 2-2 with Wolves in the League Cup. Son Heung-min will be the main threat for Spurs in attack, having scored two in the last three meetings with Arsenal but the Gunners will also have to deal with the Harry Kane threat. Kane hasn’t scored a league goal this season but a run of five goals in eight matches against Arsenal should be enough motivation for the England skipper. Away from home, Spurs have been porous in defence; in four of their last five in the league, they have conceded two or more goals. Their last away game ended in a 3-0 loss to Crystal Palace.

Our Arsenal vs Tottenham Prediction
Arsenal have managed to string a run of impressive results ahead of the North London derby. This will be a different kind of game and the level of toughness goes up significantly but the fight for bragging rights should be enough motivation. With the quality of attack on both sides and the general profile of this game, we expect goals on both ends but going with recent form, a win for Arsenal is very likely here.
