They whisper it quietly at the Emirates but 12th placed Arsenal are only six points above the relegation zone. They start 2020 with a home game against Manchester United who are in fifth and only four points behind the final Champions League place. The Gunners gave away a lead on Sunday and eventually lost 2-1 at home to Chelsea. United would have been a lot happier if Arsenal had held onto that lead against fourth placed Chelsea. Failure to win that game means Arsenal have just one win in their last 11 Premier League fixtures and six at home with the last three all ending in defeats. They are 11 points behind the final Champions League places and seven behind their opponents. Eight of their ten home league matches have seen both teams score with only Bournemouth failing to score against them at the Emirates.

Manchester United would have been just a point behind fourth if Arsenal had held onto that 1-0 lead on Sunday. United have had a good festive period winning their two games against Newcastle United and Burnley. Marcus Rashford continues to be in good scoring form and he looks certain to score 20 for United this season, maybe even 30. United have only one defeat in their last nine Premier League games but their away form is still a problem. Two of their last three have been won but they are still prone to surprising losses against sides such as Watford and Bournemouth. They have scored in four of their last six away league fixtures and the bet here is for both teams to score in this game.
