Arsenal vs Lens Prediction & Betting Tips - Champions League
by Steve Ashfield | in Champions League Predictions
Arsenal can confirm their place in the knockout rounds of the Champions League. They top the group by four points and host Lens who are third. Simply avoiding defeat will see Arsenal progress and a win will ensure they qualify as group winners. They have won three of their four group games so far. The other being a 2-1 away loss at Lens after taking an early lead. Their return to the Champions League was derailed a bit with that loss in France but the Gunners have rallied well with a couple of wins over Sevilla.
Lens are only behind second placed PSV on head-to-head results. They both have five points but the French side only earned one point from their two games against PSV. The only group win they had so far was the home victory over Arsenal. On the road, Lens have drawn at Sevilla and lost to PSV with only one goal being scored.

Arsenal - Lens: Form Analysis
Arsenal play their penultimate game in Champions League Group B and are looking good for qualification. They host third placed Lens who trail them by four points despite having beaten the Gunners at home in this group. Arsenal will go through to the last 16 if avoding defeat in this reverse fixture against the Ligue 1 side. A place in the Europa League knockout play-off round is already guaranteed but they will want far more than that from this group. The Gunners won at Brentford on Saturday and that took them back to the top of the English Premier League. Arsenal's two home games in this group have both been won with victories over PSV and Sevilla. Their home form is strong with the last four all won with three clean sheets. They are unbeaten in their last ten home league and cup games since a defeat by Brighton and Hove Albion in May..
The weekend went well for Lens too with a 3-0 win at Clermont. After a slow start to the season, they are now sixth in Ligue 1. That is the final Europa Conference League qualification place but they are four points behind the top four. The Blood and Gold are fourth in a form guide for the past ten Ligue 1 fixtures. The win at the weekend extended their unbeaten league run to eight games and no goals have been conceded in the last five. It's been a different story in Europe though with only one of their four games being won. That sole victory was the come-from-behind win over Arsenal. Their other fixtures have seen them draw away to Sevilla and only earn one point in two games against now second placed PSV. Lens have only earned two points from five away Champions League games played.

Arsenal & Lens Squad Analysis
Arsenal will be without Fabio Vieira who has just had groin surgery and won't be playing again this year. Between the sticks for this Champions League game against Lens is likely to be David Raya. Aaron Ramsdale wasn't too impressive against Brentford at the weekend. Lens will have defender Danso back in their line-up and their forward Elye Wahi is back from suspension.
