Arsenal vs Leicester Prediction & Betting Tips - Premier League
by Daniel Ngulu | in Premier League Predictions
Arsenal will hope to continue with their rise this Tuesday when they host Leicester City in the 34th round of matches in the Premier League. The two sides head to this game with a nine-point gap between them; seventh placed Arsenal on 49 points and third placed Leicester on 58 points. Arsenal’s third successive win in the league ignited top four hopes and manager Mikel Arteta admitted they have no room for error in remaining matches. The Gunners were somewhat shaky defensively against Wolverhampton Wanderers but managed an impressive 2-0 win in the Saturday game. The win also came with a third straight clean sheet in the league, signaling an improvement in defence since Arteta started playing with wingbacks. While they were lucky to keep a clean sheet against Wolves, we can’t fault Arsenal’s defensive display, looking at how poor they were in the opening games after the restart. The Gunners have improved in attack as well; they have won four straight matches and scored two or more goals. They will be happy to play at home, where most games have gone their way. Arsenal registered a 4-0 win over Norwich City in their first home game after the resumption of football. They have won eight of their 16 home league matches and lost three, two of which have come against top four sides – Chelsea and Manchester City. In their first meeting with Leicester this season, Arsenal lost 2-0 and will be keen to avoid a third straight loss to the Foxes, having been beaten 3-0 in April 2019. The last two meetings between these sides were at Leicester’s backyard though, and in the last six meetings, the side playing at home has won.
As Arsenal celebrated their fourth straight win, Leicester marked a return to winning ways in resounding fashion, beating Crystal Palace 3-0. After back to back losses to Chelsea and Everton, they bounced back impressively in the second half against Palace to score thrice. Jamie Vardy got a brace as he returned to scoring ways, adding to Kelechi Iheanacho’s opener to seal a great second half for the Foxes. They will head to the game against Arsenal keen to keep the buffer they have in the race for a top four finish. Leicester are just three points above fifth placed Manchester United and just like Arsenal, they have no margin for error as they seek another season in the Champions League. They scored more than once since football returned, in the win over Palace, which also served them their second clean sheet in the five matches in that period. However, Leicester have not done so well on the road in recent matches; they have failed to win in their last five away matches, and have one win in seven away games. Four of the seven are losses and in the Premier League, they have no win in the five away matches that have come after the 3-0 win at Newcastle United in January. The Foxes have failed to score in two of their last five away league matches and conceded in four of the five.

Our Arsenal vs Leicester Prediction
Arsenal have done well in their last four matches, and have seen a significant rise in the standings too courtesy of three straight league wins. It has been a good period for the Gunners and getting to play at home against Leicester should excite them, having registered their best results at home this season. This fixture has favored the home team in recent times, and Arsenal will hope luck is also on their side. They have been scoring consistently and have had a good break in defence. On the other hand, though Leicester beat Palace comfortably, they have not been very convincing and their away record in recent matches is not so great. Arsenal have six wins in the last eight home matches and are unbeaten in six home league matches, winning five. Eight of their 12 wins this season have come at home and they have failed to score in just one of the 16 home league matches. With their recent form, Leicester head to London as underdogs and a bet on Arsenal winning this could pass.
