Arsenal - Brighton: Form Analysis
Arsenal have managed to keep pace with Manchester City at the top of the standings and upon losing their hold on top spot after a run of four matches without a win including a demoralizing 4-1 hiding by City, Mikel Arteta’s charges have regrouped to win two consecutive matches and are now just one point behind. The race is out of their hands though, especially with City holding a one-game advantage, but they have kept the pressure in anticipation of any slip-ups from Pep Guardiola’s men. Arsenal, on 81 points, are already assured of finishing in the top two as they have a 16-point lead on third-placed Newcastle. The Gunners have conceded just one goal from their last two matches while scoring five and will again expect to be rampant as they were in the reverse fixture at Brighton earlier in the season when they won a six-goal thriller, scoring four.
Brighton have lacked consistency in recent weeks and it is becoming increasingly difficult to pinpoint what to expect from Roberto De Zerbi’s men. Three matchdays ago, the Seagulls beat Wolves 6-0 to inflict one of the heaviest defeats this season but just this week and two rounds removed from that win over Wolves, they themselves were at the end of a drubbing as Everton thumped them 5-1 at home. This loss left them in the precarious position of possibly losing their place in the top seven. Brighton are currently on 55 points, their best-ever tally since being promoted six seasons ago, and lead Aston Villa in eighth by only one point. They however have the benefit of having two games in hand on the teams around them and can challenge for the Champions League if they can master a 100% winning record between now and the end of the season.

Arsenal & Brighton Squad Analysis
Mikel Arteta will have an additional absentee to the squad that won against Newcastle United, with Oleksandr Zinchenko ruled out for the season remainder. Meanwhile, none of William Saliba, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Mohammed Elneny will be making their returns from injury though Elneny is back in training. Martin Odegaard has been Arsenal’s bright spark in this title run-in with five goals from the last five matches and will once again be looked upon to provide the threat alongside Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka. Leandro Trossard is another potential threat and if given the chance could cause his former team some problems.
Brighton could be without Billy Gilmour for this trip after the midfielder came off injured with 12 minutes to go against Everton. He had himself been brought on at halftime. His potential unavailability stretches the number of injured players at the club to six with Adam Lallana, Tariq Lamptey, Jakub Moder, Jeremy Sarmiento and Joel Veltman all out. Alexis Mac Allister scored his 10th league goal of the season in the loss to Everton and has been Brighton’s go-to guy for goals this season. Pascal Gross, Kaoru Mitoma and Danny Welbeck have also had decent scoring runs.
