Arsenal plays host to Brighton at the Emirates Stadium in this Premiership encounter. The home team are in fifth position with 54 points while the away team are in 13th position with 34 points. Arsenal lost their last match 3-0 to London rivals Crystal Palace which meant they also lost their fourth spot on the table albeit only by goal difference. They have the same number of points as fourth placed Tottenham but have a game in hand. Arsenal are desperate for a top four finish that will see them in the Champions League for the first time since the 2016/17 season. They have won four of their last five home matches with the only defeat in that time against Liverpool. After five games without a win against Brighton, they are unbeaten in the last three matches and have not conceded a goal in these matches. Arsenal have not lost a home game against any side below them on the league table since December 2020.

Brighton come into this match on the back of a goalless draw against Norwich which ended a horror run of six consecutive defeats. Their biggest problem has been their lack of goals as they have only scored one goal in their last seven matches. Brighton were unbeaten in six away matches in the league before losing their last two on the road. In the reverse fixture earlier the season Brighton kept Arsenal goalless but have never achieved this in consecutive matches. Brighton have drawn nine of their last 13 away matches in London and have come from behind in five of those matches tо win a point.
