Cameroon’s quest for a ninth appearance at the World Cup will see them travel to Angola in Match Day 4 of the qualifiers. Angola, heading into this game, are third in Group D with five points, two behind Cameroon. They come here straight from their first win in the group, beating Eswatini 1-0. Cristovao Mabululu’s early goal was enough to settle the game, and handing Angola a second straight clean sheet. It wasn’t just the first time in four matches that they won, Angola had also gone without scoring in the earlier three matches. They’ll feel this is the right footing to prepare them for the game against Cameroon, a side that they’ve dominated in recent meetings. These two nations last met six years ago, with Angola winning 1-0 for their second victory in three matches against Cameroon. The one thing Angola will want to improve is their attack, having scored more than a goal in just three of 15 matches. They failed to score in nine of those 15 matches.

They however failed to score in only three of the said last 10 matches, with six of them producing under 2.5 goals. Cameroon haven't had a great run away from home either. A 3-2 win over Gambia at the 2023 AFCON finals is their only victory in the last 13 away matches. They failed to score in seven of the 13 away matches and managed more than a goal in just three of 15 away matches. In the last 15 away matches, 10 produced under 2.5 goals.
