Angers vs PSG Prediction & Betting Tips - Ligue 1

The early season gloom at PSG seems to be easing away and they will like it that their next game is against an opponent they have dominated over the years – Angers. PSG will be making the trip to Angers for this Ligue 1 game on Saturday, placed second in the standings, with 39 points while their hosts have 30 points, in seventh place. Angers are coming from a 3-0 loss at the hands of a resurgent Monaco and this is definitely not the match they’d have wished for at this point in time. The hosts head here without a clean sheet in the last five matches while they have failed to score in three of their last six matches and have just two wins in the six games. Their last three matches have been high scoring, each resulting in over 2.5 goals and they head into another potentially high scoring game, with each of their last six meetings with PSG having ended on over 2.5 goals. Romain Thomas has been the main man in attack for Angers, with three goals in their last four matches and he will be hoping to extend this run. The main worry though, will be in defending, as Angers have conceded eight goals in the last five matches and six of these eight have come in the second half. Meanwhile, all the five goals they have scored in the last five matches, have come in the first half. Away from home, in Ligue 1, Angers have four wins in nine matches, with just two clean sheets in the process.

PSG on the other hand are enjoying a really great form; they are on a six – match unbeaten run and their most recent game was a win over Marseille in the Trophee des Champions. New manager Mauricio Pochettino is just about two weeks at the club and has already guided them to a trophy while key player Neymar is back with a bang, having scored in the Marseille game. With three clean sheets in their last five matches and seven wins in the last 10, PSG will definitely be the favorites here and they have failed to score in just two of their last 15 matches. In the league, they have four clan sheets in their last five matches, and are unbeaten in the five. They however have two straight draws in their last two away league matches but in the nine played this season, they have managed five wins. PSG have beaten Angers 11 times in the two sides’ 12 meetings, the other one ended in a draw.
