The home team are currently in 14th spot with eight points while the visitors are in second position with 20 points. Angers had a disastrous start to the season and were without a win after their first six matches with four losses and two draws. They then bounced back with wins in their last two matches which has seen them move out of the relegation zone. Angers are seeking three consecutive wins for the first time in two years. The team will be buoyed that their star player Sofiane Boufal will be available for this match after his second yellow card against Nice was rescinded. Angers will be confident coming into this match as they have only lost one of their last six home matches against Marseille.

Marseille have had a great start to their league campaign but had a disappointing 1-1 home draw against Rennes in their last match before the international break. The draw meant that they are now two points behind leaders PSG. They remain one of only three teams in the league who are yet to taste defeat.
