Almeria will aim to at least rise from the bottom of the La Liga standings when they host Cadiz this Saturday. The two sides go into their final La Liga game of the season with their fates already sealed. They will both be playing in the second-tier next season. Almeria have been the weakest team in the league this season, managing just two wins in their 37 outings. Going into the final round of matches, they’ve managed a measly 18 points, a tally that’s 19 below the safety zone. The hosts have also had the most porous backline in the league, conceding 74 goals going into the final weekend. Two of those came in their last game, as they drew 2-2 with Mallorca away. Both of Almeria’s wins in the league this season came away from home. The last time Almeria won a home league match was in May 2023, against Mallorca. This season, they’ve suffered 10 defeats in their eight home league matches, and this run includes each of the last four.

Cadiz just fell short of pushing their survival fight to the final day when they drew 0-0 with Las Palmas last time out. They did put up a gallant fight at home, but for their troubles, ended up with a point and a red card to Victor Chust. That result marked a third straight undefeated game for Cadiz. It did, however, halt their two-game winning run and confirmed they will be dropping to the Segunda Division. Ahead of this game, they are four points behind 17th placed Mallorca. A run of just one defeat in the last five matches should have been good enough to at least take their battle to the final day. However, Cadiz will look at their 23-game winless streak between September and March with regrets. They haven't also been in great shape away from home this season. However, their first away win in the league on their last trip should carry enough motivation for Cadiz.
