The Power Horse Stadium in Almeria will play host to this match. Ahead of this weekend’s fixtures in the league, the hosts are at the bottom of the table with eight points, while the visitors are fourth with 51 points. Almeria have already created some unwanted history as they remain winless in 28 La Liga matches. This is the longest run of consecutive games for any club without a win in the history of the competition. There seems to be no end to that search, leaving them 12 points behind the safety zone. They are coming having drawn their last two matches, which seems to be a small ray of hope. With four draws across their last five home league games, Almeria have proven to be a difficult team to face at this venue.

Atletico are coming off a 1-0 loss to Inter in the Champions League and have a Copa del Rey semi-final second leg coming up. Incidentally, they are looking to overturn a 1-0 deficit in that game, having lost the first leg to Athletic Club.
