The top two teams in Group H face each other as the qualifiers for the 2022 African Cup of nations resume. After two of the six games being played, Algeria top the group on six points, two ahead of opponents Zimbabwe. The other two countries in this group are Botswana (one point) and Zambia (no points). With the top two in the group automatically qualifying for the fnals, these two countries are already in a strong position to make it through. Algeria are the defending champions in this tournament. They have so far beaten Zambia 5-0 at home (though it took them 44 minutes to get their first goal) and then won away 1-0 in Botswana. Their most recent match saw them get a creditable 2-2 draw in Mexico, they nearly won that as they led with four minutes remaining. Algeria have only lost one match since 2018 with one loss in 22 games. On home soil, they have just one defeat by the Cape Verde Islands since June 2018. Home form in African Cup of Nations qualifiers is incredibly strong with 13 of the last 14 won. Overall they have just two losses in their last 26 qualifiers and will be looking to maintain that excellent record.

Zimbabwe have made it to four of the last five final stages of this competition but never made it out of their groups. With four points from their first two games, another appearance in 2022 is looking good. They began this group with a 0-0 draw at home to Botswana but then won 2-1 away in Zambia with a winner 11 minutes from time. They do tend to draw too many games, three in the last four to be precise. Zimbabwe come into this game on an unbeaten run of six games though but with just one win in the last four played away from home. They sruggle to get on the scoresheet on their travels, failing to score in three of the last four. A home win is the confident tip for this game.
