It’s a battle of two low-scoring sides in La Liga, as Deportivo Alavés host Cádiz. This matchday 21 will be played at the Mendizorroza Stadium in Vitoria-Gasteiz on Friday. Ahead of this round, Alavés are 13th with 20 points while the visitors are 18th with 15 points. The hosts are only five points above the bottom-three, although they have been showing signs of improvement in the recent games. Playing at this venue hasn’t quite helped them in the recent past though, as they lost their last two home league games. They are coming off a 4-1 thrashing at the hands of Valencia, although the scoreline doesn’t suggest that two of those goals came well beyond the stoppage time. That was their second loss in a row and extended their winless run to 16 league games – drawing and losing eight each. It is their poor scoring form that has cut them short, as only 15 goals were scored by the visitors in this league campaign. Their record on the road isn’t great though, as Cádiz are yet to win on the road this league season. They have drawn four and lost six of their ten away league games, which could be a ray of hope for the home fans.
