Turkish Super Lig leaders Trabzonspor travel to take on Alanyaspor for a league clash on Monday night. Ahead of title rivals Besiktas on goal difference, Trabzonspor know that the championship will be decided by the tightest of margins. That means that one slip-up could be fatal. Alanyaspor are sixth in the table and although Champions League football is out of reach, fourth place and an accompanying Europa League spot are only seven points away. Both clubs are coming off the back of big semi-final wins in the Turkish Cup so this will act as a sneak peek of that showpiece event scheduled for July. That result meant that had failed to win six of their last seven league fixtures, losing four. The run has seen them go from a Europa League spot to a speck in the distance to the European places. Their away record (4-4-5) has been especially problematic to those European ambitions. Leaky on the road, Alanyaspor have the third-best defensive home record in the top flight. Trabzonspor, the league's best away goalscorers, will put that backline to the test and bring their own admirable defensive record to the table, it being the joint-best when it comes to teams on the road. Four of the last six matches between these teams have featured fewer than three goals. In those fixtures, only one team has scored. We see a similar contest playing out here.
