One of the most intriguing games of the Super Lig weekend sees Alanyaspor against Istanbul Basaksehir at Bahçeşehir Okulları Stadium. The home side are currently contending for the title; third in the table, they are two points behind leaders Galatasaray. After their title win last season, it would be fair for most people to expect Istanbul Basaksehir to be among the challengers for this campaign's championship. Instead, they are four points above the relegation zone, in 16th place. The defence of their trophy has been disastrous for Basaksehir, who have failed to win nine of their last ten matches in all competitions.
