Al Riyadh have all to play for when they welcome Al Nassr for their next game in the Saudi Pro League. While Al Nassr have achieved all they can for the season, Al Riyadh are just two points above the relegation zone. With two rounds remaining, a win here would prove crucial to Al Riyadh’s survival. If they can better Al Akhdoud’s performance on Thursday then survival will be guaranteed. Al Riyadh can afford to look at their past four games with optimism, having avoided defeat. However, their last three ended in draws. The last time they faced a top-three side, Al Riyadh beat Al Ahli, and will be hoping for a similar outcome here. That win, however, is their only victory over the last 10 matches; they lost four. In their last outing, Al Riyadh were headed to a key victory away to Al Hazm but conceded in stoppage time. Dropping two points in that game meant their push for survival continues to the penultimate round of the season. There may not be a lot of comfort here, as Al Riyadh have lost in the last three meetings with Al Nassr. Their 4-1 defeat in the reverse fixture was however the first time these two met since 2011.

Al Nassr for the second season running, will finish second in the league. In Cristiano Ronaldo’s first full season, the Portuguese star hasn’t been able to inspire Al Nassr to win the title. He is however leading the top scorers’ race and the team’s point-tally has improved from 67, to the current 78 and it could go higher. Going into this match, Al Nassr are 12 points behind Al Hilal, who have already been declared champions. Crucially, Al Nassr have booked their place in the Champions League, and come here without as much pressure as their host. In their last game, Al Nassr faced the newly crowned champions, drawing 1-1. Playing at home, Al Nassr took a first minute lead but conceded a stoppage time penalty, which was dispatched by Aleksandar Mitrovic. That marked their sixth unbeaten game but ended their five-match winning run. While they are doing well, Al Nassr have struggled defensively coming here. They have just five clean sheets in the last 16 matches. Playing away from home, Al Nassr have a run that should give them the needed confidence. They are on eight straight away wins in the league. Their only loss in the last 15 away league games was against Al Hilal in December.
