Al Hilal will welcome Al Shabab on Friday looking to keep their unbeaten start to the Saudi Pro League intact. Both teams have had contrasting starts to the season with Al Hilal currently second in the standings and Al Shabab down in 11th. Al Hilal are the only team remaining in the league yet to suffer defeat. They have won five of their seven matches and trail leaders Al Ittihad by one point. This unbeaten start has been extended to all other competitions and Jorge Jesus’ men haven’t lost in nine matches. They beat Division 1 side Al Jabalain 1-0 away from home last time out in the King’s Cup. The win put to a halt a run of two draws that had ended in similar 1-1 scorelines. Al Hilal have scored freely this season and have so far managed 21 goals in the league.

Al Shabab have struggled against their soon-to-be hosts over the years and have lost 25 of the 46 meetings. With their current struggles, they could again play into Al Hilal’s hands. Juan Ignacio’s men have racked up eight points and find themselves just four points above the drop zone. They have been defeated three times already and have conceded the joint most goals, 13, of the teams in the top 13. Al Shabab have won their last three matches with the latest being a 2-1 home success against Al Batin in the Cup.
