Al Akhdoud host third placed Al Ittihad in the Saudi Professional League. The home side are 12th in the table, eight points behind their opponents. They are only a point and three places above the relegation zone but did get their first league win last week. That was a 1-0 win at Al Riyadh and a very much needed victory. Before that success, they had lost their last three league matches. Both of their home fixtures have been lost this season. They led Al Fateh but ended up losing 3-1 and then were beaten by the only goal of the game against Al Taewon

It's going much better for Al Ittihad who are only a point off the top after five league games of the new season. They are the joint top scorers in the Saudi Professional League with 15 scored in their first five league fixtures. Al Ittihad scored three last week but still ended up losing 4-3 at home to Al Hilal who are now top of the table. They led that match 3-1 in the second half with Benzema scoring one of the Al Ittihad goals. However, it was another new recruit to the league who turned the match around with Mitrovic scoring twice and completing a hat-trick. Al Ittihad have scored at least twice in each of their league games this season. On the road, they have won all three games with 10 goals scored and none conceded. Another win can be earned here with Al Ittihad ahead at both half and full time.
