Ajax are top of the Dutch league and turn their attention to the Europa League. They host Young Boys in the first leg of this last sixteen tie and are in top form at present. The Dutch side began this season in the Champions League but had a tough draw. They only earned a point in four games against Atalanta and Liverpool. Both games against Midtjylland were won and that took them into the Europa League. The last 32 saw them beat Ligue 1 leaders Lille with a couple of 2-1 wins. Ajax have a six point lead at the top of the Dutch league and have a game in hand. They are unbeaten in 19 league and cup games since a defeat by Atalanta in the Champions League. Home form has seen them unbeaten in nine games, interestingly though seven of those have seen both teams score. Just one of their last 16 home games in this competition has ended in defeat.

Young Boys are again walking away with the Swiss Super League with a 19 point lead.  They have only lost one league game all season but have drawn each of their last three. Their season also began with a Champions League campaign. One round was won through but then they lost 3-0 to Midtjylland, the same team that Ajax later beat twice in the group stages. Transferred into the Europa League, they beat Tirana to qualify for the group stages. That saw them finish second behind Roma but they only won one of their three away games. The last 32 saw them knock out Bayer Leverkusen 6-3 on aggregate. Go for Ajax to get a first leg lead.
