Saturday’s A-League action gets underway at Coopers Stadium, where Adelaide United will be playing host to Wellington Phoenix. The Reds are seventh in the league standings, while the Nix are 11th after 23 games. Let’s get into the match prediction. 

After an excellent first half of the season, Adelaide United have experienced a dismal run of form since the turn of the year and slipped out of the top six last week when they lost 4-1 to Perth Glory. 

That result marked the Reds’ fourth consecutive league defeat - a period during which they conceded two or more goals in each match - and eighth game without victory. 

At home, the hosts are winless in their last four games (W0 D1 L3) and have conceded two or more goals in eight of their last 10, dating back to the end of November.

Meanwhile, Wellington Phoenix have experienced a major fall from grace this season. After finishing as runners-up last term, they are 13th in this campaign with just 24 points and three games to play. 

The Nix suffered their 11th league defeat of the season last week, going down 3-2 to Melbourne Victory at home. They have only won one of their last 10 top-flight matches. 

The visitors won their last away game 2-1 against the Newcastle Jets, but it followed a four-match winless run, which included three defeats. They have not kept a clean sheet on the road in their last nine matches.
