AC Milan will welcome Sassuolo to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Sunday for the matchweek 20 encounter in the Serie A. The hosts are currently in second position in the league, with 38 points in 19 matches, 12 behind runaway leaders Napoli who have already brought up their half-century exactly halfway through the season. The chasing pack is very compact, with just a single point separating AC Milan and Roma in fifth. Milan suffered a disappointing 4-0 loss to Lazio in their last match, bringing their six-match unbeaten streak to an end, which included three wins and three draws. At home, Milan has been formidable this season, losing only one of their nine matches at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, along with seven wins and a draw. They are also on a five-match unbeaten streak on their home patch and will expect to come away with another win over a side at the wrong end of the table.

Sassuolo, on the other hand, is in 17th place in the league with 17 points, just one spot above the drop zone and one point below Salernitana and Spezia. Following their 1-1 draw last week against Monza, Sassuolo extended their winless run to eight matches, which includes two draws and six losses. Unfortunately, their away record isn’t much better, recording one win in ten matches and currently riding a 6-match winless run, five of which ended in defeat. In the reverse fixture, Sassuolo managed to hold Milan to a 0-0 draw, and they would be ecstatic if they could take another point in this one.
