AC Milan vs Sampdoria Prediction & Betting Tips - Serie A

This is the first match of the latest set of Serie A fixtures. Milan are second and host 10th placed Sampdoria as they bid to close the gap on leaders Inter to three points. The home side lost two vital league games in February but since then have one loss in five Serie A matches. They were knocked out of the Europa League by Manchester United but put up a good fight against the side second in the English Premier League. Milan had to come from 2-1 down at Fiorentina to get a win in their last league game. Home form is a worry for Milan with three losses in the last five league games. That has to improve if they are to get anywhere near toppling leaders Inter. Those three losses were against Inter, Atalanta and Napoli, beating Sampdoria is an easier assignment.

The visitors are tenth and have little to play for. The number of points behind the final European competition qualifying position and the bottom three are both in double figures. Sampdoria won their most recent league game. That was a 1-0 home win over Torino who are one place above the relegation zone. That victory ended a run of five league matches without a win. Only one of their last seven away league matches has been won and that was at Parma who are one from bottom in the table. Not since 2008 have they won an away Serie A match against Milan. Add on two home losses to them last year and their record against Milan is a poor one. Bet on Milan to get an important home win.
