Fifth-placed AC Milan will look to revive their league season against an already-relegated Sampdoria on Saturday. The San Siro showdown comes with Milan looking to quell Roma and Atalanta who are two and three points away respectively. The visitors are bottom of the table and another loss could potentially see them confirm that spot. The mood in the Milan camp is one of despair after a 3-0 aggregate loss to Inter in the semis of the Champions League. That defeat makes it three losses in a row in all competitions. It also leaves them without any silverware for the season, although there's still a lot to play for. A four-point gap to top-four puts them in a tight place to get back to the Champions League next season. Worryingly still, only three points separate them from the seventh-placed Atalanta putting their Europa League qualification under question.

Sampdoria area already confirmed of their relegation but put up a fight against Empoli last Monday in a 1-1 draw. Yet, that result keeps them winning in eight league matches. Four of those have been defeats and with each coming to nil, Sampdoria risk another poor return here. That has to do with historical record as the visitors scored just one goal in their last three away league matches against Milan. It doesn't lift the mood in the visiting camp that they have poor on the travels. Sampdoria have lost seven of their last nine away Serie A matches, drawing the other two. Six of those defeats have come without scoring, putting doubts over their ability to find a goal here.
