The final weekend of the 2023-24 Serie A season will see AC Milan taking on Salernitana at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Saturday evening. These sides are at opposite ends of the table, with the hosts currently in second place while the visitors are bottom of the league standings. AC Milan are set to end the league campaign as runners-up, heading into this final fixture with 74 points after 37 games, 19 behind runaway league winners Inter Milan. Still, it has been a progressive season for Rossoneri, who are two places up and four points better off than their tally from the last campaign. They have not been at their best in recent weeks, though, having won just one of their last six league games while drawing three and losing two. The most recent of those defeats came last week when they were beaten 3-1 by Torino on the road. However, their home record this season has been impressive, reading as 12 wins, three draws and three losses in 18 matches. These sides played to a 2-2 draw earlier in the season but the hosts are firm favourites in this encounter. 

Meanwhile, after two seasons in the top flight, Salernitana will be returning to Serie B next term. They have been by far the worst side in the league this season, managing just two wins in 37 games and posting just 16 points to date. Granata suffered their 25th loss of the season last week when they were beaten 2-1 at home by Verona, marking their eighth defeat in their last ten games, while extending their winless run in all competitions to 20 consecutive matches. The last time the side tasted victory was on December 30, when they edged Verona to a 1-0 away win. That was Salernitana’s only away victory of the campaign and they enter this contest winless in their last nine on the road, including three draws and six losses. While the reverse fixture ended level, the visitors have failed to beat this opponent in their last seven attempts, losing four and drawing three.
