Unlike Milan, Newcastle are coming into this game buoyed by a win in their last outing. They beat Brentford 1-0 at home last Saturday  A second half Callum Wilson penalty gave them a much needed win. They had won their opening league game of the season 5-1 against Aston Villa but since then had been beaten by Manchester City, Liverpool and Brighton and Hove Albion The win over Brentford lifted them to 12th in the Premier League but nine points behind leaders Manchester City. upset Brentford 1-0 in the Premier League through Callum Wilson's second half penalty. The Magpies last played in the Champions League in 2003, and will hope to mark a return in a big way. This will be their first competitive meeting with Milan, though they've played Inter Milan at San Siro before. The win over Brentford was their return to winning ways after earlier straight losses in three games. This will be Newcastle United's sixth game of the season. In the opening five they failed to score in just one – the 1-0 defeat to Manchester City. However, they haven't managed more than a goal in four matches after opening with a 5-1 win over Aston Villa. Twice in their last three matches Newcastle United have conceded more than a goal and have just a clean sheet. The visitors come into this game with straight losses in the last two away games. That extends their run without a win away from home to four matches. They have one win in six away matches.
