The Milan derby is scheduled this weekend; AC Milan hosts Inter Milan at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium with the two sides seeking to stick a foot out in the Serie A title race. Inter are already falling behind in their title defence; they are third with 24 points while Milan are tied at the top with Napoli on 31 points. Milan are struggling in Europe, but not domestically; they are one of the two unbeaten sides this season in Serie A and in the 11 matches played, they have 10 wins. Milan are currently the side with the best form in Serie A in recent matches, having won seven straight league games. They are unbeaten in their last 16 Serie A matches. Their 2-1 win over AS Roma in their last league game was the eighth time in 11 games that they scored two or more goals. They will hope for an improvement on their run against Inter here, having managed just two wins in the last 10 meetings.

Inter Milan on the other hand, seem to be placing more focus on Europe this time. They are well placed to advance to the next stage of the Champions League, but back at home, their title defence is shaky. Ahead of this game, they’ve already seven points below the leading pack. The champions haven’t had a very good run defensively, with just three clean sheets in the last 14 matches across all competitions. They have conceded the most goals among the top three sides – 12; and in the last 10 league games, they have six wins but with just two clean sheets. Inter have one loss in the league this season, but have three wins less than Milan so far.
