Only two points separate third-placed AC Milan and ninth-placed Verona as the teams get ready for their Serie A clash this weekend. This matchday #5 fixture will be played at San Siro on Saturday with the hosts three points behind top-ranked Inter. Milan are coming off a drab goalless draw against Newcastle United at this venue that made it two consecutive games without a win. Their previous game last weekend was also at this venue, albeit as visitors to their cross-town rivals Inter. The Rossoneri were thrashed 5-1 in one of their heaviest defeats, halting a three-game winning start to the season. They are also coming off a goalless draw against Bologna that followed a 3-1 defeat to Sassuolo. That shouldn’t cloud the fact that the visitors have defeated Roma 2-1 in one of the earlier matches.
