Milan are at the top of the Serie A and have a good chance to extend their leadership with a home game against Fiorentina in the ninth round of matches this Sunday. A fine start to the season has Milan at the Serie A summit with 20 points while Fiorentina are placed 15th after garnering eight points so far. Fiorentina, on the other hand, managed to end their winless streak with a 1-0 extra time victory over Udinese in the Coppa Italia. They have two wins in the last five matches, both coming in the Coppa Italia and their two clean sheets in the last nine matches have also come in the cup competition. In Serie A, it has been tough; the team has no win in the last three league matches, and only one win in the last seven. It has not been rosy for Fiorentina in the league, as they have managed only two clean sheets in their eight matches, and go to this game with no goal scored in the last three league games. They have conceded two or more goals in five of the last seven league matches and have no win in their four away league games. In the four away league games, the visitors have conceded two or more goals in three and failed to score in two.
