AC Milan top Serie A by three points going into this game. They face a tough home match this weekend when hosting sixth placed Atalanta. Milan maintained their lead at the top with a comfortable 2-0 away win at Cagliari on Monday. That made it two wins since the 3-1 home loss to Juventus, but this weekend they are up against a strong team in good form, not Cagliari and Torino. Home form this season has seen Milan winning five out of nine league games for the third best record in Serie A. Three draws though, all with both teams scoring and showing that Milan can be fragile at times but fight back well. The draws against both Verona and Parma saw them recover from 2-0 down. Both teams have scored in five of the last seven home league games Milan have played and six out of nine overall.

Atalanta made a great start to the new season winning their first three league fixtures. Form dipped for a while after that though with only one win in the next six. Their form has returned though and they come into this game unbeaten in their last nine Serie A fixtures with only a loss to Verona in their last 16 games in all competitions. Their last two league games have seen them drop points with draws against Genoa and on Wednesday, Udinese, both sides currently in the bottom six. They went behind in the first minute at Udinese but equalized a minute before half time. That draw left them a point behind fourth placed Roma and ten behind Milan. They'd been in great scoring form before that though with 12 goals in their last three Serie A games. Away form is impressive with only a defeat at Napoli in their last 19 league games on the road and of course also a win at Anfield in the Champions League. They have only failed to score in two of their last 31 away Serie A games and last season drew 1-1 at Milan. Keeping away league clean sheets is on their must improve list, with only two achieved in the last 18 in Serie A. Betting on both teams to score looks a winner here considering 15 of the last 17 Atalanta away league matches have seen that stat come up.
