Each of the last three encounters between these teams at this venue ended in a draw, and based on the current league standings, the hosts would likely be the happier of the sides if this one ended level as well.

That result saw them drop out of second place in the league, with Criciuma taking their place. Over their last six matches, Sport Retclife have won three, drawn two, and lost just one. Their away record, though, could use some improvement, as they have taken just seven points from a possible 21. The visitors have only won one away match this season and none in their last three, drawing two and losing the most recent. Sport Recife won the last encounter against this opponent, but that was at home. A win here could still take them into the lead in the league, though that will require both sides above them to drop points in their matches as well.
