How to play DraftKings Pick6

Before you enter your first DraftKings Pick6 contest, you need to register for an account at DraftKings Pick6. This is a simple process that requires you to visit pick6.draftkings.com and hit the Sign Up button. Then just supply a few personal details (name, email address etc) and set up your username/password combination. After doing that, it’s time for the fun to begin:

Choose your roster

The contests at DraftKings Pick6 cover a host of popular sports and leagues including MLB, NASCAR, NFL, NBA and the PGA Tour. After you have chosen your sport, you need to fill out your roster with between two and six players.

Unlike most fantasy games, you don’t necessarily have to pick the players that you think will perform the best. Instead, each player comes with a projected stat line. This stat line can be an in-game metric (e.g. passing yards or touchdowns) or it can relate to points acquired via the DraftKings Fantasy game. For instance, Patrick Mahomes may have 17 fantasy points attached to his name.

For each player, you need to decide whether their actual stat line will be more or less than the given projection.

Enter a contest

Entry fees at DraftKings Pick6 start from as little as $1, so regardless of your budget, you will be able to find a suitable contest to join. To make life easier for you, DraftKings will automatically insert you into a contest (subject to your approval) after you have selected your entry fee. It is also worth noting that you can make multiple entries into the same contest.

Watch your contest

Thanks to the My Picks page on your DraftKings Pick6 account, you can get real time updates on the progress of your selections, as well as checking out how well you are doing compared to other players in your contest. You can even view your projected prize amount based on the current game situation.

What are the prizes in DraftKings Pick6?

In each contest, your score is determined by the amount of correct picks you make. As you would expect, the prize pools at DraftKings Pick6 vary depending on the entry fee for the contest. But in all contests, a designated prize pool amount is allocated to all entries that achieve a certain number of correct picks.

Example: A six pick MLB contest has an entry fee of $10 and a prize pool of $20,000.

  • Each player who gets all their 6 picks correct will win a share of $16,000. So if 32 players get 6 correct picks, then they will each receive $500.
  • Each player that gets 5 of their picks correct will win a share of $4,000.

What is the best strategy for DraftKings Pick6? Four expert tips

Now that you know how DraftKings Pick6 works, it’s time to give you some expert tips for successfully playing the game, if you're interested in learning more about DraftKings sportsbook, check out our review.

Compare the projected stat lines with betting lines

A good way of assessing whether a player’s projected stat line is too low or too high is to see how it compares with the prices being offered by sportsbooks. For example, if the DraftKings Pick6 stat for Derrick Henry’s rushing yards is 95, but the betting markets are suggesting that he is favored to break 100 yards, it probably indicates that you need to opt for ‘More’.

Correlate your picks

If you think that A.J. Brown is going to achieve more than 100 receiving yards, then it seems likely that Jalen Hurts is going to have a productive afternoon under center. As such, it makes sense to go for the ‘More’ option for Hurts passing yards, as well as Brown receiving yards. By choosing players whose stat lines are linked, you can increase your chances of landing multiple correct picks.

Under picks have greater value

Let’s face it, when playing fantasy, there is a natural tendency to want your players to do well. But in DraftKings Pick6, you sometimes need your players to perform poorly. This creates a bit of leverage in the game. Because the majority of players are likely to bet on ‘More’, picking ‘Less’ will often mean fewer players match your selections. This means there will be fewer players sharing the prize pool if you get a sufficient number of correct picks.

Look for unusual categories

Whilst DraftKings Pick6 categories such as home runs, touchdowns and total points are always popular with players, you can often find some excellent options by looking at some of the more obscure categories. Because metrics such as (in the case of NBA contests) blocks, rebounds and assists are less popular, you will sometimes find that the stat line is less accurate.
