Casper Ruud of Norway will shoot for a spot in the semifinal of the Dallas Open against an in-form Yoshihito Nishioka of Japan on Friday. In his win over Mmoh, Ruud put on a clinic as he scored seven aces, captured four break points, and scored on all except one of his serves. Nishioka advanced to the quarterfinal of the Dallas Open with a scintillating 3-6 6-4 6-3 upset win over No.5 seed Frances Tiafoe of the United States. After vanquishing Brandon Nakashima in straight sets, Nishioka sustained his impeccable form as he caught Tiafoe by surprise with his efficient service game and terrific winners. The Japanese collected 45 points off the first serves and broke Tiafoe two times to turn things around after dropping the first set.
