Hanfmann defeated a second-seeded player on Sunday, downing Pedro Martinez 7-6(1) 6-2. The German landed six aces while winning 73 percent of his first serves. Juncheng also booted out former US Open finalist Kei Nishikori 6-4 6-4 and Grand Slam quarterfinalist Roman Safiullin 5-7 6-3 6-3 in the previous rounds.
