Wang Xinyu of China is set to duke it out with Elise Mertens of Belgium on Saturday with the winner advancing to the championship match of the 2025 Singapore Open. Wang gutted her way to the semifinal after coming through with a 6-7(5) 7-6(5) 6-4 win over Jil Teichmann of Switzerland on Friday, The Chinese scored 69 points off her first serves while converting the only break point of the match in the first game of the deciding set, which gave her the edge to grinded out a tough win over the Swiss. Mertens also made it to the final four with a exquisite win over Maria Camila Osorio Serrano 6-4 6-2. Coming off a come-from-behind win over Tatjana Maria of Germany, Mertens started off strong by breaking in the first game and a serve for a 2-0 lead. The Belgian held her next four serves to clinch the first set and then broke Serrano three times in the second set to sealed her place in the semis.

Our Xinyu Wang vs Elise Mertens Prediction
This will be a mad dash toward the end, but I give the edge to the more seasoned player in Mertens. The Belgian has held 90 percent of her serves and was broken once in the previous round. Wang is sure to present troubles as she’s also hitting the ball well throughout her campaign. However, I really think Mertens can pull off a win by digging deep from her bag of tricks and relying on her playing experience at this tournament stage. Mertens has a 25-21 card in the semifinal throughout his career and has 8 WTA titles, including five on hard surfaces. Our betting prediction for Elise Mertens vs. Xinyu Wang: Elise Mertens will win.
