Both are coming off wins, the Portland Trail Blazers and the Washington Wizards will try to establish a winning streak at the expense of the other when they meet for the second time this season at Moda Center on Monday.

On Sunday, the Trail Blazers ended their five-game skid with a 105-102 win over the visiting Toronto Raptors. Anfernee Simmons scored 12 of his game-high 22 points in the fourth quarter to sneak past the Raptors, who had a five-point lead at the start of the fourth quarter. The Blazers also got solid contributions from Toumani Camara and Shaedon Sharpe, who posted 19 and 17 points, respectively.

The Wizards defeated the Denver Nuggets for the second time this season, 126-123, on Saturday behind an outstanding game from rookie Alex Sarr and a clutch trey from Jordan Poole. Washington, who had earned a win over the 2023 NBA champion in their first meeting in DC last December, overcame a 30-44 deficit at the end of the first by staying consistent on offense, scoring at least 30 points in all four quarters. Sarr finished with 34 points while Poole knocked down a dagger trey with 2.1 seconds left to snatch a win on the Nuggets’ home floor.
