Early in November the Heat traveled to DC to face the Wizards and beat them there, with 32 points from Adebayo 118-109 covering a -10 handicap in the betting that Miami had started with as the favorite that day.

Four months later they meet again but in Miami again with the Heat favored by 10.5 points. This is even after the Wizards have a rest advantage because the Heat played the Knicks on Sunday, in a game that got away from them in overtime and they lost 112-116 even though they had a biggest lead of 19 points. The Heat's point production in the paint fell off in the second half, they had scored 20 more points in the paint than the Knicks at halftime and ended up losing in that department 56-58 when the game ended.

Wizards are still last in the Eastern Conference but at least they achieved their 11th victory of the season and 5th outside of DC on Saturday against the Hornets. The Wizards bench greatly outclassed the injury-ridden Wizards bench in a 50-13 win. In the win, Middleton and Coulibaly each scored 17 points and Alex Sarr, returning from injury, had 10 points in 22 minutes.
