The 2022 Marlins Cy Young Award winner pitched in Game 2 of the Marlins-Nationals game in Miami. Alcantara dominated the first three innings, pitching three scoreless innings and giving the Marlins a quick 3-0 lead. However, an ace complicated the game in the 4th inning, allowing three runs. Seven runs from the Marlins' offense before the 7th inning would give Alcantara his second win of the season.
With this, the Marlins snapped the Nationals' four-game winning streak over the Marlins. Game 3 will take place after noon for the third time in the series, with the Nationals starting as favorites at betting sites.
The pitching duel will be between Gore and Quantrill, and the game total was set at 7.5 despite 11 or more runs being scored in the first two games of the series.
It was reported late Saturday that CJ Abrams went on the 10-day injured list with a hip flexor strain after only taking one at-bat Saturday with the Nats, a significant loss given he had hit four home runs.
