The Nashville Predators lived to fight another day after narrowly defeating the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday, and they will hope to do the same on Friday. The Preds won 2-1 despite going down early in the 3rd period, rallying behind goals from Alexandre Carrier and Roman Josi. The Canucks appeared to be in control for the vast majority of the game, keeping relentless pressure on Nashville’s defensive end. However, Dakota Joshua was called for a controversial penalty that ultimately doomed Vancouver, as Nashville converted to tie and later win. The lone scorer for the losers Nikita Zadorov was quite upset with the officiating throughout the game, and voiced his frustrations as to what he perceived was a lack of refereeing accountability in playoff hockey. Zadorov was called for a cross-checking penalty on Filip Forsberg, who appeared to exaggerate the effect.
