The fun will now continue on Thursday night when the star-ladden United States of America takes on Finland at the Ball Centre in Montreal, Canada. The US comes into this tournament as one of the favorites, thanks to their top-heavy squad. They boast elite forwards and reliable defensemen who can help them outlast any opponent.
However, we cannot overlook Finland despite being the underdogs in this tournament. Players like Aleksander Barkov and Roope Hintz can cause damage to any opponent. The US can also not afford to sleep on Finland's fast wingers like Patrick Laine and Mikko Rantanen. The latter is among the most underappreciated NHL stars, averaging 100 points in the last three seasons. Finland will trust Juuse Saros in goaltending duties as they seek to contain the US attack. Still, they could be in for a long night.
